Preface

For about fourteen years, the author has been deeply involved in the research related to the sintering of various materials and during the last six years devoted to the sintering of cordierite-based ceramics. The objective of this monograph is to present the accumulated experience in one volume, which can serve as a basis for the future research in the field as well as a reference for practitioners.

Research presented in this monograph was performed within the projects OI 172057, 142011 G, and 1832 funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. The author is indebted to Prof. Dr. Vladimir Pavlović for his encouragement to publish this monograph. The author is also grateful to all three reviewers, Prof. Dr. Ljubica Pavlović, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Pavlović, and Academician Antonije Đorđević, for their careful reading and useful suggestions for improving the manuscript.
